Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short documentary, “The Dads” follows fathers of trans and gender-expansive children as they navigate a rapidly changing political landscape and confront difficult choices about family, safety, and standing up for the people they love. Following the screening, stay for a special community conversation hosted by local filmmaker and advocate Fiona Dawson of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Fiona brings together local community voices to reflect on the film and explore the experiences of trans and gender-expansive Texans and their families, the importance of allyship, and the power of showing up for one another.
